South St Petersburg And Snitching

South Saint Petersburg

“Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that
matter.” -Martin Luther King, Jr.

He who passively accepts evil is as much involved in it as he who helps to perpetuate it.  He who accepts evil without protesting against it is really cooperating with it.” - Quote from Stride Toward Freedom: The Montgomery Story by Martin Luther King, Jr. Harper & Brothers, 1958

South St Petersburg is the poorer, more crime riddled part of Saint Petersburg, Florida. It will always remain so because its denizens have a policy of protecting criminals by not reporting their activity.

The South St Petersburg web site was inspired by three events which occurred in St Petersburg over the period from April 2008 to April 2009. Two of those events occurred in North St Pete but the perpetrators were Southsiders or had Southside connections.

This site is currently in a transitional phase. We have lots of content, that we are copying and pasting into it. As we write, it is 3 months til the Statute of Limitations expires for Amy’s killer (April 12, 2013). If so, congrats to South St Pete. You protected another criminal. Hopefully in the next week, we can get the content loaded in and tightened up, the interface and WordPress theme finalized. Please be patient and feel free to contribute or contact us if you want.

?”I hold that, the more helpless a creature, the more entitled it is to protection by man from the cruelty of man.”
–Mahatma Gandhi

1. The cruel beating and ultimately the killing of a pet Siamese cat in the Historic Kenwood area of North St Petersburg. The perpetrator was seen and described as someone typical of the profile of persons most commonly associated with crime, especially violent crime, in South St Petersburg. The incident happened just a three blocks north of Central Ave and the criminal was seen heading South after the crime.

2. The murder of a Bangladeshi immigrant shop keeper just a couple of blocks south east of crime number 1 in the Grand Central District. The store keeper, Mohammad Uddin, had come to the United States after winning the “Green Card Lottery” (Diversity Visa Program). The two scum bags who killed him were born here, but were apparently unable to take advantage of all that America offers.

3. The shooting of a little girl in a drive by in South St Petersburg in April, 2009.

If you live in South St Petersburg, it is likely that you are a follower, not a leader, a destroyer , not a creator, a taker, not a giver, you are silent when a voice is required, passive when you should be active.
